Business has been evolving with every dollar earned and every year passed. That means what was done ten years ago may be done in a completely way today. One of those aspects of business that is evolving in practice but not principal, is incentives. Bosses and companies all over the world used performance and goal based incentives to, in a sense, bribe their employees into putting out the most workload possible. Incentives can come in many different forms but the important thing is that the idea of incentives has been around since the Egyptian pharaohs provided more food to slaves when the workload was heavier. Here are just a few ways to incentivize employees.
Tips For Employee Incentives
1. Monetary- Who doesn’t love money, especially receiving more money for doing the same job. Employees should have goal based incentives that if met, provide them with the opportunity to receive bonuses based on a percentage of the extra money the company made through their efforts.
2. Trips- Industries and organizations hold press conferences and meetings in exotic and fun places all the time. By rewarding employees with trips for creating the most amount of business for a given period of time is a great way to create a fun, competitive atmosphere while ensuring that employees will keep working hard to have some fun.
2. Recognition- One of the most important aspects of incentives is recognition. Recognizing an employee at a function, meeting, or with some kind of hardware is a great way to show appreciation for their hard work.
By celebrating and rewarding employees for their time and work, bosses can make sure that the employees are happy and that usually means more productivity. Rewards allow employees something to work towards and create a goal. Using incentives is business 101 and drives a company towards success.
